Many of the women I consulted for this project are mothers or soon to be mothers. Pine cones are the woody fruiting body of pine trees, and the female reproductive structure that contains seeds. The scales of the pine cone protect the seeds from weather and animals until they are mature and ready to explore.

This collection is inspired by the women I admire who grew up in cold climates like Alaska, Minnesota, Norway, and New England—places that require resilience and foster a profound connection to nature. Having grown up in a similar environment myself, I know firsthand how these landscapes shape both spirit and identity.
